Just starting the OU MOOC on Open Education – part of #H817 in its first presentation. MOOCs are already erupting into higher education and prompting very diverse approaches to what they could mean and how they should operate. It will be interesting to see how non H817 users interact with the H817 students.
Wondering what the image is? it’s a doorway, I think in Carcasonne, a couple of years ago. Connection? A bit questionable, but…think of us at the doorway of this particular MOOC, needing to open it and walk through ….:))

Hello Mary – yes it will be very interesting to see how cohorts combine in the MOOC. I wonder how many people will join in? Quite nice to have that feel of adventure 🙂
Hi Mary – I don’t think this post came through to the aggregator because it isn’t tagged #h817open (it needs to be in the tags, not just the title). I should be getting some analytics which will allow us to look at the question you pose from a data angle – ie formal OU students vs informal learners.
…but how do I tag it? I can’t see where I can add a tag, so if you can point me to that, I’ll do it.

Have now found the tag menu and applied #H817 as a general tag – I hope. Does this mean that all my comments will be so tagged or should I explicitly try to tag each one with #H817?
